GACE is an acronym for the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators. The GACE Paraprofessional exam is for anyone who wants to work as a paraprofessional in Georgia public schools.

Each one of the GACE exams has an assigned number, and the number for the Paraprofessional exam is 177. There are many different educator exams and these numbers help the state keep track of the different tests.

GACE Paraprofessional Exam Breakdown

The GACE Paraprofessional (177) exam is made up of three subareas: Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. You must pass the overall exam and must retake the entire examination if you fail. The test consists of 90 questions and lasts 2.5 hours.

What is a Passing Score

The passing score for the GACE Paraprofessional (177) exam is 250. The scale for the scores on this test is 100-300. Basically, you need to get about 80% of the questions right to pass.

Register for the GACE Paraprofessional (177) exam. Pay the fee online and schedule the date and time of your test.

If you are already certified to teach in Georgia, you do not need to take the GACE Paraprofessional exam to work as a paraprofessional in Georgia.
