This video playlist includes 42 short videos about different topics related to the CSET: Physical education exam.

These short videos cover a few topics that are likely to appear on the exam:

First Thing to Know

CSET stands for the California Subject Examinations for Teachers. The CSET program was developed to measure specific knowledge and skills and assess whether prospective teachers in California meet basic subject matter requirements. The CSET: Physical Education exam is used to assess the knowledge and skills specific to K-12 physical education subjects.

The CSET: Physical Education is associated with three different test codes, one for each of the three subtests. You may see study materials refer to the full exam as CSET: Physical Education (129, 130, 131) or to each of the subtests individually. It is good to be familiar with all of these test codes and know which subtests they identify.

CSET Physical Education Exam Breakdown

The CSET: Physical Education is made up of three subtests and seven total test domains. This means that you must pass each individual subtest with a score of at least 220 to pass the entire CSET: Physical Education (129, 130, 131) exam. Each subtest contains approximately 40 multiple-choice questions and at least one constructed-response question. A detailed test breakdown is provided in the table below.

Each subtest is scored separately, so if you only fail one or two subtests, you do not need to retake the entire test again. When you register, you can register to take one, two, or all three CSET: Physical Education (129, 130, 131) subtests at a time.

What is a Passing Score

The minimum passing score for all CSET subtests is 220. The score report will show a “pass” or “not pass” status within a score range of 100 to 300 for each individual subtest. Raw scores will be converted to a scaled score to account for differences between test forms.

Study Guide Zone, a spin-off company from Mometrix, also has a separate CSET: Physical Education practice test. This practice test is free, which is great! But it only contains 14 questions, which is not so great. The practice test also doesn’t distinguish between content from the different subtests, which could make it a little bit difficult to fit into an organized study plan.
